Bees, which have been considered domestic animals for centuries, have actually maintained their full biological autonomy, so as to be able to relate with them, it is therefore essential to "know" them and, above all, to have access to the basic information that will then allow us to understand and investigate the topics that interest us most. This fourth edition, completely renewed, more than a decade after the third, was necessary to adapt the volume to the most recent knowledge about biology, breeding techniques, beekeeping flora and especially to disease, with particular regard to new diseases, pesticide poisoning and the "syndrome of depopulation of hives".
